Smart & Safe Florida Campaign Announces New Donors
(Tallahassee, FL) – Following the affirmative ruling by the Florida Supreme Court allowing Amendment 3 to appear on the November ballot, the Smart & Safe Florida campaign today announced several new donors committed to helping ensure victory this fall.
“We are not only pleased that the court has agreed to move this initiative forward, but we are also thrilled to announce a strong alliance of committed donors to the effort,” said Smart & Safe Florida chairman David Bellamy.
As the campaign moves into its next phase, Smart & Safe Florida announced that it has raised more than $15,000,000 million to date.
The Smart & Safe Florida campaign is supporting the statewide citizen’s initiative to allow adults in Florida the freedom to safely purchase and consume cannabis. The campaign has not only gathered well over 1 million signatures, but the ballot language has also been officially approved by the Florida Supreme Court (as released on Monday April 1st) and it will appear on the November 5th ballot in all 67 Florida counties.
Recent public polls have consistently shown this ballot item polling in the high 60’s or low 70’s with 60% needed for final approval.
To date, the campaign has largely been funded by Florida-based Trulieve and with the announcement of these additional donors, new campaign finance reports will soon show a broad group of companies who are joining Trulieve to contribute to this historic effort, including:
