BREAKING: Democratic U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel Endorses Amendment 3
Support continues to surge across the political spectrum in campaign to legalize adult use marijuana
(Delray Beach, FL) – Today, U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel (D-Fla. 22nd), announced her endorsement of Amendment 3 on the November ballot. Rep. Frankel, an attorney who has also served as the Mayor of West Palm Beach and Democratic minority leader in the Florida State Legislature, is advocating for legalizing adult use marijuana because she believes that current regulation is antiquated and places an undue strain on Florida’s already-taxed law enforcement and criminal justice communities.
“I have taken a closer look at Amendment 3 and will support it,” said Rep. Frankel. “Safe lab-tested marijuana will save lives and put an end to outdated laws that ruin people’s lives for merely possessing or consuming small amounts of marijuana.”
Rep. Frankel joins a growing coalition who agree that passing Amendment 3 is the best path forward for Florida, illustrating the broad support for legalizing recreational adult use marijuana. Her endorsement follows ACLU of Florida, SEIU Florida, Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan, Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young, Republican State Sen. Joe Gruters, Democratic State Sen. Shev Jones, the Libertarian Party of Florida, and more local leaders and advocacy individuals/organizations from across the state.
