BREAKING: Former Duval County Sheriff Nat Glover Endorses Amendment 3
Glover: “As a former sheriff, I have seen too many lives ruined by arrests and incarcerations for small amounts of marijuana.”
(Duval County, FL) – Today, former Duval County Sheriff Nat Glover announced his endorsement of Amendment 3. Glover announced his support for Amendment 3 because legalizing adult use recreational marijuana means putting an end to the unnecessary arrest of individuals for simple marijuana possession, relieving the burden on our criminal justice system, and giving Floridians access to safe, lab-tested products.
“If Amendment 3 passes, it will make sure people are not jailed for small amounts of marijuana. I also believe that if Amendment 3 becomes law, we have the real possibility of clearing the criminal records of those previously convicted of small possession of marijuana,” said former Duval County Sheriff Nat Glover. “As a former sheriff, I have seen too many lives ruined by arrests and incarceration for small amounts of marijuana. If Amendment 3 were to pass, it will allow law enforcement to focus more on violent crime and those areas truly dangerous to our communities.”
Former Duval County Sheriff Nat Glover joins a growing coalition who agree that passing Amendment 3 is the best path for Florida. His endorsement follows Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan, Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young, Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith, Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt, Republican State Sen. Joe Gruters, Democratic State Sen. Shev Jones, the Libertarian Party of Florida, the Democratic Party of Florida and more leaders from across the state, illustrating broad support for legalizing recreational adult use marijuana.
