Sheriff Smith: “Amendment 3 represents a sensible and compassionate approach to marijuana policy”
(Bradford County, FL) – In case you missed it yesterday, Bradford County Sheriff Gordon Smith reiterated his support for Amendment 3 in an op-ed published in The Capitolist. A self-proclaimed “tough on crime” officer with 38 years serving Florida, Sheriff Smith knows that legalizing recreational adult use marijuana will reduce the burden on Florida’s criminal justice system while also providing significant economic benefits to our state through tax benefits and job creation.
Sheriff Smith’s support for Amendment 3 is also influenced by his brother, a veteran who served our country in multiple wars and found relief through medical marijuana. His journey opened Sheriff Smith’s eyes to the benefits of for those suffering from various medical conditions. Now, the Sheriff is advocating to expand access to this therapeutic option for many more Floridians who may benefit from its use.
