Smart & Safe Florida Announces New Law Enforcement Ad

Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young: “Amendment 3 will save lives.”

(Orlando, FL) – Today, Smart & Safe Florida released a new ad featuring Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young, who knows firsthand the dangers illicit marijuana can bring to communities. In “Firsthand,” Sheriff Young says Amendment 3 will save lives by giving Floridians access to safe, lab-tested marijuana all while allowing law enforcement to focus on serious crimes.

“Firsthand” can be viewed HERE.

After a mass fentanyl overdose shook Gadsden County in 2022 when the drug was laced in other substances, Sheriff Young knows firsthand the dangers of the illicit market and the importance of access to safe, tested marijuana for adults.  This summer, Sheriff Young voiced his support in an op-ed for the Tallahassee Democrat, outlining the common-sense reasons to pass Amendment 3.

A yes vote on Amendment 3 will improve the health and safety of Floridians and alleviate the burden on both the law enforcement and criminal justice communities. Access to regulated adult use marijuana will help prevent illicit cartel-trafficked marijuana from making its way into Florida. Without regulation, these products can be laced with dangerous materials including meth, fentanyl, ketamine and other illegal substances.
