Dade City based country stars The Bellamy Brothers are getting behind a proposed amendment to the Florida state constitution that would allow people age 21 and up to “purchase, or use marijuana products and marijuana accessories for non-medical personal consumption.”

David and Howard Bellamy, along with medical marijuana company Trulieve, have formed the campaign Smart & Safe Florida in hopes of putting the issue before voters in the 2024 election.

“We know Floridians are more than ready to finally stop arresting adults who use marijuana,” Howard Bellamy said in a video posted on YouTube.

Smart & Safe Florida needs to collect around 900,000 signatures in order to get the measure onto the ballot.
